I am a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo. My father is a UMC pastor and I grew up in the United Methodist Church. From University I have been appointed many
times as director of children’s ministry and director of the United Methodist
Youth fellowship Movement. In December
1999, I felt the strong presence of God in my life at a youth retreat in
Lubumbashi. At that time I was convinced that God had been preparing me to
serve him. I am married to Francine Ilunga Mpanga Mufuk,
who is also serving with me in Kenya. We
have two children, a daughter, Berthe Mafefe Maleka 12 years old, and a son, Ephraim
Masuka Maleka 9 years old.
I
hold a Doctorate degree in Theology of Ministry (DMin from Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington DC.)
I hold also Master’s Degree in Peace and Governance (MPG) from Africa University,
Zimbabwe, where I graduated in 2010.
Masters degree of Art in Bible and Theology at Worldwide Evangelical Seminary. (MBT) inNS Canada
My first degree is a B.A. degree in History and Social Sciences from Teachers College/DRC in 1999. I hold also a state Diploma in Education (General Pedagogy) obtained in 1992. In 2000 I was selected by the Southern Congo Annual Conference as one of the Missioners of Hope for the Children of Africa. In this position, I went to work in Lubumbashi city for five years (2000-2005). My assignment was to develop children’s ministry for the Church to reach the needs of children in the City of Lubumbashi was the Crossroads of displaced people and refugees during the war period.

I gained experience in working with
uprooted people and those who were marginalized. During that time together with
other members of the conference, we started a center called Jama Letu Center
which is the orphanage of the UMC Southern Congo Annual Conference. I also
initiated a Hope Club where street children could find hope and solutions to
their basic needs. As a Missioner of Hope, I served later as the first
conference director of the Young Adult Ministry in the Southern Congo Conference. I have been an ordained UMC deacon
since 2003 and became elder in 2015.
In 2003 my wife and I went to
Nairobi/, Kenya, to attend a seminar in child evangelism fellowship for 3
months and we received a diploma in children’s ministries which allowed my wife
and me to develop our ministries further. World Vision International in Congo
was using our skills to train Sunday school teachers in different parts of the
country.
In partnership with the North West Pacific Conference of the UMC; I was invited to the USA to do a fundraising program for six weeks. The funds allowed our Southern Congo Annual Conference together with the North West Pacific Conference to achieve the goal of building an orphanage.
In August 2011, I was assigned to work in Kenya, where I was training local pastors and church planters. Together we saw more God's miracles. After 2 years and half of Service, the Lord called me to serve in Cote D'Ivoire where my assignment is to strengthen evangelism and church planting.
God is at work in my ministry. Continue supporting me and my ministry.
